Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. Whether you came to find out about Lori Powell or Olley White, I hope you find what you’re looking for here.
Today was an exciting day for me. In the little market town of Downham Market, Norfolk, there is a wonderful charity bookshop called No8 which is run by the West Norfolk Deaf Association (WNDA). Now I regularly spend my money in there and am a member of their book group and today I was lucky enough to do my first shift volunteering for them. It was fabulous.
The bookshop is pretty much one out of fiction. For such a small town it is remarkably busy shop. Donations of books come in all day and there is a constant flow of customers. The manager has an eye for design and there are gorgeous, quirky decorations everywhere. Artisan cards, bookmarks and jewellery are all sold at really accessible prices. Paperback fiction sells at £1.50 a book – it is a little slice of heaven, with all the proceeds going to a hardworking charity. It was certainly a wonderful day.
